WHEREAS, the 8th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of States and Governments of the African Union has, at its Session held in Addis Ababa on 30 January 2007 adopted the Charter on Democracy, Election and Governance;
WHEREAS, Ethiopia has signed the Charter on 28 December 2007;
WHEREAS, the House of Peoples’ Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has ratified the Convention at its session held on 25th day of November, 2008;
NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with Article 55 sub article (1) and (12) of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia it is hereby proclaimed as follows:
