WHEREAS, the Assembly of the African Union has adopted the African Youth Charter at its 7th ordinary session held in Banjul on the 2nd day of July, 2006;

WHEREAS, the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has signed the Charter on the 28th day of December, 2007;

WHEREAS, the House of Peoples’ Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has ratified the Charter at its session held on the 31st day of December, 2013;

NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with Article 55(1) and (12) of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, it is hereby proclaimed as follows:
