The Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Government of the Republic of the Sudan (hereinafter jointly referred to as the “Parties” and separately as the “Party”);

Desiring to forge closer juridical ties and promote more effective international cooperation by means of mutual legal assistance in criminal matters for the investigation and prosecution of offences;

Recognizing that many criminal activities pose a serious threat to mankind and take the form of transnational criminal operations in which evidence or elements relating to criminal offences can frequently be found in a number of States;

HAVE AGREED as follows:
