Whereas, Ethiopia is endowed with diverse ecosystems and it is necessary to enhance the socio-economic and environmental contributions of these multiple ecosystems to the overall national development endeavors; whereas, these ecosystems are under high pressure due to the unsustainable use of natural resources and it has become necessary to develop a legal framework for payment of ecosystem services to promote practices that guarantee sustainable ecosystem management
