WHEREAS, National Bank of Ethiopia undertakes procurement of goods, services and works as an input to its operation as conducive to the achievement of its strategic objective;

WHEREAS, it has been necessary to revise the existing procurement policy as procurement Directive of the Bank with a view accommodate the current situation;

WHEREAS, the existing procurement policy of the Bank is found to be insufficient to procure goods and service which are unique to the very nature of the National Bank of Ethiopia;

WHEREAS, the Ethiopian Federal Government Procurement and Property Administration Proclamation number 649/2009 is not applicable to the National Bank of Ethiopia to procure goods, works, consultancy services, and other services which are unique to the very nature of the National Bank of Ethiopia;

NOW, THEREFORE, the National Bank of Ethiopia has issued this procurement Directive.
