Whereas, it is found necessary t o further reduce hoarding limit of banknotes to discourage illegal activities;

Now, therefore, the National Bank has issued this Directive in accordance with the power vested on it by article 27(2) of the National Bank of Ethiopia Establishment (as Amended) Proclamation No. 591/2008 to protect the country’s legal tender.
