WHEREAS, it has been found necessary to administer the management activities of the public hospitals & Health Centres that are accountable to the Addis Ababa city government health bureau to provide efficient and effective service for customers and satisfy the interest of the community;

WHEREAS, it has been found necessary to bring those professional, competent, and trustworthy individuals to the leadership and management positions to carry out the medical and disease control activities of hospitals & Health Centres as per the set quality standards and efficiently;

WHEREAS, it has been accepted that the assignment of the leadership and management position shall be based on competition, competence, and make it participatory and transparent, and to establish a procedure that ensures good governance by enhancing the institutional capacity of hospitals & Health Centres;

NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with letter (E) of Sub-Article (2) of Article 15 of the Addis Ababa City Government Executive Organs Establishment and to specify the power and duties of the thereof Proclamation No. 74/2021, the Addis Ababa city government health bureau has issued this directive.
