"Ministry of Justice Committed to Prisoner Rights" - H.E. Omod Ojulu

H.E. Omod Ojulu, Advisor State Minister at the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Ministry of Justice, held a discussion with representatives from the Center for Justice (CJC) and Prisoners Sans Frontières (PSFR) to explore avenues for collaboration on advancing prisoners’ rights, improving pardon procedures, and capacity building programs.

The meeting underscored the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration, with Center for Justice and Prisoners Sans Frontières invited to contribute technical expertise, financial support, and advocacy. H.E. Omod Ojulu reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to transformative reforms, fostering equitable justice, and safeguarding the rights of prisoners. The Ministry looks forward to strengthening partnerships with CJC, PSFR, and other stakeholders to achieve these critical objectives. The representatives of the Center for Justice and Prisoners Sans Frontières expressed their keen interest in partnering with the Ministry and the Government of Ethiopia to enhance the overall conditions of prisoners, with a particular focus on improving the well-being of women and children living with their mothers in prison.
