Marking the grand finale of International Women’s Month 2026, H.E. Dr. Ermias Yemanebirhan, State Minister of Justice, delivered a compelling keynote address at a high-level policy dialogue held at the UN ECA Conference Center. Joined by H.E. Dr. Ergogie Tesfaye and UN Resident Coordinator Dr. Ozonnia Ojielo, he emphasized that dismantling structural barriers is essential to strengthening the very foundation of Ethiopian society.
While celebrating transformative milestones such as the establishment of over 93 One-Stop Centers and the implementation of the Criminal Information Record Management System (CRIMS) the dialogue underscored the urgent need to expand these services into rural and conflict-affected regions.
The event concluded with a collective pledge by the government, UN agencies, and civil society to ensure that justice is not merely a distant legal principle, but a lived reality and an inclusive experience for every woman and girls across Ethiopia.
