WHEREAS, the House of People’s Representatives, through Proclamation No. 1124/2019, ratified the Agreement on the Establishment of the African Continental Free Trade Area, signed at the African Union Summit held in Kigali, Rwanda, on 21 March 2018; WHEREAS, the 13th Special Session of the African Union Summit resolved that Member States shall establish a Schedule of Tariff Concessions, specifying annual tariff reductions to achieve tariff-free access on agreed tariff lines within the agreed timeframe, and that trade among Member States under the tariff reduction framework shall adhere to the agreed mechanism, including product coverage and reciprocity;

WHEREAS, the tariff reduction applicable to Ethiopia’s trade in goods with Member States was submitted to and approved by the Summit held on February 17-21, 2024, and Member States are required to prepare and publish a Schedule of Tariff Concessions for goods imported from other Member States in an accessible local newspaper, as annexed to the Protocol on Trade in Goods stipulated in the Agreement on the Establishment of the African Continental Free Trade Area; The Council of Ministers, in accordance with Proclamation No. 1124/2019 ratifying the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement and Article 4 of the Convention on the Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Goods, Proclamation No. 67/1985 (as amended), has issued this Regulation
