Addis Getnet has been leading the Legal Study, Drafting and Consolidation Directorate General since August 5 2020. He has served as Deputy Director General for three consecutive years from August 5, 2020 and then as Director General for the years leading up to the present. He has played an important role in the development of reformist legal and policy frameworks following the national reforms, and continues to play an important role in fulfilling his responsibilities as a nation. He played a pivotal role in reforming legal and policy frameworks during the Government’s reform process. Under his leadership, the department has successfully tested and modernized legal frameworks to keep them in line with the International Standard and Ethiopia’s growth goal. With his new coordination skills, he is successful in working with stakeholders and partners at all levels in formulating policies and legal frameworks that is inclusive and implementable. Prior to his leadership role, he was assigned to various levels of prosecution and was certified for the quality and competence of his profession in criminal investigation and prosecution.
With over 15 years of experience in the legal field, he remains committed to advancing justice and equality through effective policymaking.
