WHEREAS, the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has signed the Agreement on Privileges and Immunities of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria with reservation on Article 2(4) and (8), Article 3(1)(f), Article 3(3), Article 4(2)(b), (d), and (f), and Article 4(4) on the 15th day of July 2011;
WHEREAS, the House of Peoples’ Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has ratified the said Agreement with additional reservation on Article 7(2) to (6) at its Ordinary session held on the 4th day of April 2017;
WHEREAS, to give the declaration, “The Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia declares that the Privileges and Immunity granted to Representatives of States, Officials, and other individuals under this Agreement apply only to the acts done in the exercise of their Official functions.”
NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with Article 55(1) and (12) of the Constitution, it is hereby proclaimed as follows:
