WHEREAS, it is found essential that Ethiopia accede to the Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict signed at the Hague on the 14th day of May 1954;

WHEREAS, the said convention and protocol are found to be of paramount importance in protecting Ethiopian Cultural Heritage;

WHEREAS, the House of Peoples’ Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has acceded to said convention and its first protocol at its session held on the 28th day of October, 2003;

NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with Article 55 Sub-Articles (1) and (12) of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, it is hereby proclaimed as follows:
