WHEREAS, the protocol on the prevention, control and reduction of small arms and light weapons in the Great Likes Region and Home of Africa is signed among the Governments of the Sub-region in Nairobi 21 April 2004;

WHEREAS, it is stipulated in the protocol that it shall enter in to force after the deposit of ratification by two thirds of the member states;

WHEREAS, the House of the People’s Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has ratified the said protocol at its session held on 11th day of November, 2004;

NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with Article 55 Sub Article (1) and (12) of the constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, it is here by proclaimed as follows;
