The Miscellaneous Crimes Prosecution Directorate is a department of the Ministry responsible to the Attorney General Division entrusted with the mandate to investigate and prosecute criminal offences except terrorism, corruption, and economic crimes that are mainly investigated centrally by the Addis Ababa and Federal Police Commissions. These offences include the crime of homicide and manslaughter, and organized criminal offences falling under the jurisdiction of two or more regional states, crimes committed linking two or more sub cities of Addis Ababa City Administration. The Directorate is responsible to bring offenders of the aforementioned offences before courts of law and ensure accountability thereof with the view of ensuring the rule of law.
