Getu Tadesse has been heading the Branch Offices Monitoring Directorate since September 2022. Under his leadership, the department has successfully managed, supported and monitored the Branch offices under the institution, lead trials of criminal cases under the jurisdiction of the branch offices and filed with the Federal High Court, receive and process complaints against decisions made by the branch offices, and directed and determined decision-making, thus enabling the department to properly discharge its responsibilities. The Director, with his coordination skills, has worked closely with officials at all levels, judicial experts and officials, as well as stakeholders, in the context of the increasing efficacy of the branch offices under the Attorney General’s Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia, by coordinating, monitoring and supporting the activities of the branch offices, and by providing close supervision to enable the branch offices to perform their duties effectively. Prior to his current leadership role, he served as a prosecutor, team leader, and head of a branch office, primarily working in the areas of investigation and litigation. He is ready to take on the responsibility of effectively leading the criminal justice system and institutional building role using his 13 years of experience.
