WHEREAS, it has become necessary to strengthen the financial capacity of the Corporation to enable it to better accomplish its mission in order to be able to play a positive role that is expected of it in the country’s endeavor to ensure overall development and build a democratic system;

WHEREAS, it has become necessary to include in one Proclamation the powers and responsibilities of the Corporation which emanate from two separate Proclamations and has created a gap in the practice of the Corporation, and also to create a system whereby the Board of the Corporation can support the institution in a better way, and to clearly stipulate the objectives, power, and responsibilities of the Corporation;

WHEREAS, it has become necessary to improve television service fee and modernize its payment system to enable the society to discharge its obligation easily and also to stipulate legal accountability for those television set owners who do not discharge their duties;

NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with Article 55(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, it is hereby proclaimed as follows:
