WHEREAS, the United Nations Convention on Road Traffic was adopted in Austria,/Vienna/, by member states attending the meeting held from October 7 to November 8,1968; and has been in force;

WHEREAS, the Convention has consolidated and internationally accepted rules regarding road traffic;

WHEREAS, the ratification of this Convention is significant in ensuring a smooth and efficient cross-border road traffic for Ethiopia as our country is landlocked; and enhances the road safety standards of our country thereby mitigating the damages ensuing fromroad traffic accidents;

WHEREAS, the House of Peoples’ Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has ratified the said agreement at its 5th special session held on 7th day of July, 2021;

NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with Article 55 Sub-Article (12) of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia it is proclaimed as follows.
