Advocacy Administration Directorate

The Advocates Administration and Free Legal Aid Service Directorate is a Departments of the Ministry under the Government’s Legal and Justice Service Division and is responsible for licensing, renewing, suspending, or revoking the license granted to advocates according to the Federal Advocacy Service Licensing And Administration Proclamation No 1249/2021. In addition, the Department is responsible for allocating pro bono cases to advocates for those people that cannot afford to hire their own lawyers, to charity organizations and civic societies. The Directorate also has the duty to investigate complaints for violations of disciplinary rules brought against any advocate or law firm and bring disciplinary charges.
